100 percent of your United Way Contributions to JCIL are used to provide direct services for individuals with disabilities and not used for salaries, travel or any type of administrative expense. Your contributions STAY IN YOUR COUNTY to provide assistive devices and home modifications. At JCIL, United Way means INDEPENDENCE for PEOPLE with disABILITIES.

2006-2007 UPDATE:

To date over 34 people have been served with home modifications, mobility, assistive technology, employment and education.Other examples of the services provided include transportation for a Hardeman County resident to Jackson for training and helping a Crockett County resident sell her art. By the end of the year we will have invested more than our $15,000 United Way allocation in direct services to individuals plus more than $17,000 in other home modification grants and contributions




OUR UNITED WAY HISTORY

2005-2006 REPORT: Over thirty people were served with home modifications, transportation, employment and two becoming home owners. JCIL invested more than our $16,000 United Way allocation (over $20,000) in direct services to individuals plus more than $12,000 in other grants and contributions. We are also pleased to report assisting a consumer in becoming a homeowner by acquiring them a $15,000 THDA grant and by partnering with another United Way agency.

The 2004 - 2005 Report: Thank you for the $15,000 UW contributions in 2004/2005. JCIL invested over $30,000 to serve people in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman with our Accessible Home Program plus another $30,000 has been invested to assist three families become home owners. Only at JCIL does a $15,000 investment return $60,000 in services. We've only just begun. Our waiting list for these counties now exceeds 80.

In 2003/2004 with $12,000 UW contributions, JCIL invested over $31,000 to serve people in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman Counties.

In 2002/2003, Madison, Crockett and Hardeman United Way invested $9,480 in JCIL and JCIL invested $22,587 in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman Counties by serving 30 individuals.

In 2001/2002, Madison, Crockett and Hardeman United Way invested $4,000 in JCIL and JCIL invested $27,500 in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman Counties.

In 2000/2001, Madison, Crockett and Hardeman United Way invested $4,000 in JCIL and JCIL invested $21,438.12 in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman Counties.



Our Homeowner Program is assisting three individuals with grants of over $59,000. We are also pleased to report partnering with another United Way agency in assisting a consumer in getting out of a nursing home.


These home modifications made it possible for people with disabilities in Madison, Crockett and Hardeman Counties to visit their friends and family, to go shopping, to go to church and to work. Independent living is doing what you want to do and United Way contributions make independence possible for a lot of people.
